Phosphorus and Carbohydrate Metabolism in Green Bean Plants Subjected to Increasing Phosphorus Concentration in the Nutrient Solution

Phosphorus (P) is considered an elementary mineral nutrient for plants. Nevertheless, excessive or deficit supply to the crop may cause negative changes at physiological level. Plants were cultivated in pots a growth chamber under increasing P concentration (P1 (0.5 mmol/L (control treatment)), P2 (1 mmol/L); P3 (2 P4 (4 P5 (6 mmol/L), and P6 (8 mmol/L)) solution 40 days. At end of experimental period, biomass, carbohydrates concentration, enzymatic activities related synthesis degradation sucrose as well different fractions organs plant assessed. The results obtained this experiment reveal decrease biomass supply. Fructose, glucose, sucrose, starch concentrations higher shoots compared roots. There trends roots sucrose. increase dose increased forms assessed all studied. Seed phytate surpassed threshold established by Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) green bean plants grown P4, P5, treatments. Considering obtained, we suggest fertigation with 2 obtain productivity without excess seeds.
